Making the News

Here is a clip (click on link below) from the State Drill Comp on Friday. Syracuse High is in the Blue Sequin tops. (Kena boo is in the front if the first clip of them. ) Fun stuff. They danced really well. They took 6th over all, which may not seem too great, but it is pretty good considering it is only the 3rd year of the school, and also the fact that there are 16 5A school that compete. Plus, those Salt Lake schools are tough, but they held there own.
So proud of Mckena and all her hard work. She was in all three Comp routines as a sophomore! She made two, and was an alternate for one, but a girl hurt her hip~ so Mckena was put in. She is not a morning girl at all, and she got up almost every morning on her own to make it to 6:00 am practices. Love you Mckena! Great job Syracuse Dance Line~ you are all awesome.

Crazy for Crochet

I have been wanting to learn how to make these cute headbands with a flower that are the latest rage. Well my good neighbor and friend Ashley taught me how, and ever since I have been on an a crocheting rampage!
For starters, I am on the committee for the Dance Line gift for the State Comp. I had the crazy idea to make them for the girls. 24 girls + 3 coaches = 27 headbands! Am I crazy? Yes! but actually it was quite fun and I found it very enjoyable.... not to mention it is a very showy and yet cheap gift. (They cost about $2.00 ea)
When I finished, I was still in a crocheting mood~ so I made a sweater for our puppy Majai,
and another kind of headband. Mckena wore it to school, and called me and asked if I would make some of her friends one and how much I would charge. I said "sure for $1.00" . Well she came home with an order of 17! (Maybe I should have charged more...jk)

The DL girls will get theirsFri morning before heading to State. I will take a picture with them wearing them. I hope they like them.

January Family Activity

One of our family goals for 2010 is to go to the Temple as a family and do Baptisms. It was great!
What a blessing to have a Temple so close~ and to have our "WHOLE" family together.
We are thinking it would be fun to go around to all the Temples close to us throughout this year.

We then went to Costa Vida for dinner~ thanks to gift cards we got for Christmas from some friends.

Fun family night~ the kind I want to wrap up and store in my "good family memories" file.

Christmas

This is our little Christmas surprise! We got a little Yorkie Poo. The kids were so excited, they would have been content with just him. These are our traditional Christmas pictures with their "goods"

Tradition

This is by far one of our most favorite traditions. The day after Thanksgiving we go cut down our Christmas tree. The whole Franklin Family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma and grandpa goes too! Then we invade Golden Corral for breakfast! We have done this for about 15 years.
We come home and spend the rest of the weekend decorating! Now we can officially begin the Christmas season!!
