Celebrate With Angels

Today is my sweet Chelsea's birthday. Twenty three years old in our earthly time. Oh how I wish she was here to celebrate the day with, and yet somehow she is. I know in my heart she is celebrating and dancing with angels and is her happy little self! I love and miss her so much. This week is a tough one, with her birthday and her passing so close. But I too, have angels all around to help ease the sorrow and to feel joy with tender mercies at every tear drop. Happy Birthday Chelsea!

Prom 2012

March 24th was Syracuse High Prom Night. Mckena was asked to go with her friend Tyson Williams. As I got to the home they were taking pictures at, this what I walked into.

Skylee and Mckena have been friends through the years, starting in 3rd grade. Diane (Skylee's mom) was taking this picture, and being the cry baby that I am, I started to cry as the years passed before my eyes of these two... and here they are Seniors, all grown up. (so to speak) Diane and I just sat there with tears in our eyes and we both had our little proud mom moments.

New York City

This years dance line trip was to NYC! When the coach announced this trip back in Sept. I doubted the possibility of both the girls and myself going. Due to the fact that it was more expensive than the last 2 yrs trips to California, and that it would be x3!
So I thought about sending just Mckena since it was her senior year, but felt like that was unfair to Shayla because that would mean Mckena would get to go all 3 yrs. So then I thought I would just send the 2 of them. But my dear sweet optimisitic guy I married, convinced me that I had to take advantage of this time and go with the girls. Not to mention the fact that the day they would leave would be the 6 year mark of Chelsea's accident, and I would be home alone. (That didn't sound fun.)
So we all worked a lot of extra hours and we were blessed with some extra work to be able to make it happen! And I am so thankful it did happen. It was so much fun, and one of the best trips we have ever been on, (minus the great guy I mentioned not being there with us)
Although there was sacrifices made, and it was finacially binding at times, it was truly a priceless time with my girls! WE LOVE NY!

3rd Place in State!!

What a great year of dance these girls have had! Friday was the 4A/5A State Drill Team Competition. It is hard to compete against those Salt Lake Schools, and the Syracuse High Dance Line put them to the test! They placed 2nd in Military, 3rd in Dance and 2nd in Character. They tied for 2nd overall and the tie breaker put them in 3rd overall. Copper Hills coming in 2nd and 3rd time state champ Bingham, took 1st again. We were so proud of them, and feel there was nothing else they could have done more! They danced AMAZING and are 1st place winners in by book! Mckena had to dance with an injured wrist, and Shayla was sick all week, ( with what we think is Pleurisy) and still managed to give it her all! It has been such a bonding for these two to share this year dancing, practicing, performing and competing together. Not many sisters get to share in that kind of memories together. Region 1 Champs and top three in the State of Utah!!
WAY TO GO DANCE LINE!

Competition Time

The Dance Line has begun their competition season! At the first comp at Davis High they placed a 1st in Military, 2nd in Character and 3rd in Dance. Yesterday the competition was a Juan Diego against all the big Salt Lake Schools. The Syracuse High DL placed 2nd overall!! So exciting. They did amazing and we are hopeful that next week they can keep up the good work.
Mckena is competing a solo again this year. The first comp she took 6th place. She was not very happy about it, or her routine. So she made changes and Friday night she took 3rd place! So proud of both my dancing girls!
