Happiness.. Our Heritage

I had the assignment of speaking in church today on this talk from President Uchtdorf. I always love preparing a talk or lesson, because I get so much out of it. Giving a talk on the other hand, is not my one of my favs. There is wonderful counsel in his talk to all of us on how to have happiness, by creating, and being compassionate. Think of all the things you can create that comes from our divine nature. A smile. Do it right now, c'mon...smile :) See you just created something, a feeling! There is so many things we create daily, and when we rely on the Spirit, it is endless. Ideas.. create a memory, create a friendship, create self esteem in a child.
I just love this little video clip, and since preparing my talk this week, wanted to share. Hope you enjoy. This week pay attention to all you create, and find happiness in it. "Through the things you create, and by your compassionate service, you are a power for good. You make the world a better place. Lift up your chin, walk tall & (SMILE) God loves you." Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Holy cow!! I got chills watching that!! Thank you so much for sharing that today! I loved his talk in conference and joked with my husband that his talk is how I justify all of the money I spend in my hobby of photography and scrapbooking heehee! You have a lucky ward to get to hear you speak. I'm sure that was a treat!

I gave a lesson on Elder Uchtdorf's talk months ago, and even then it was so good to hear the inspired counsel again. Inspired testimony accompanied by Elder Uchtdorf's inspired counsel= inspired talk. Thanks!

A little over 3 years ago an experience happened to me that has paralized me. I let "the critics" get to me and right now I am all but one comment away from being completely broken. Everyday I pray hard for something to remind me of my worth so I can rebuild. Thank you for sharing this. It is a start :)

Wendy Wow it's Weird...I spoke in Sunday too and I used portions of this same talk in my own. However, mine was on "comfort those who stand in need of comfort" and I used his Peter Pan quote: Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. By the way...I talked about you a little and how you've inspired me with your wisdom and that was not the best idea cuz it made me do the weird crackly trying-not-to-cry-talk-voice ;) Miss ya old friend! Old meaning known you over 20yrs--not the "we're old" way ;)
