22 on the 22nd

March 22nd 1988

Happy Anniversary to us! Twenty two years ago, Rich and I were married. No longer do we have matching dishes, and our towels are frayed, pans are black from use, and we are in need of some home repairs, and yet I would not have it any other way, they all are a part of the story of our lives.
We met when he came to work at the bank I was working at. I was assigned to train him. That is when my heart first got all fluttery! That was in August 1987, right after he had returned from his mission. We flirted and chatted everyday at work. On October 2nd 1987, we went on our first date. Then... hold your breath, on October 19th-(17 DAYS LATER) Rich proposed, and I said yes! Crazy huh?! I use to love that story, but now I worry my kids might use that against me! I would freak if they came to me with that announcement. (Bless our parents) One of the greatest evidences Heavenly Father knows and loves me, is that he put Rich into my path. I am so blessed to have met and marry my best friend! We have had our ups and downs, but mostly ups! He is an awesome husband and dad, I am so grateful to have him in my life.
With our little unemployment spell, we are pretty broke~ so we didn't get to have much of a celebration. But that's okay... that isn't what it's all about. (at least that is what I am telling myself anyway, cause secretly I would love to be on a beach sippin a pina colada!) Although, I am very thankful to be in my home, surrounded by my kiddos, with a hubby that loves me lots, and our healthy bodies~ True happiness :)

Here we go again

Shayla had so much fun as an 8th grade officer that she has decided to run again for the 2010/2011 school year. But this time she is going for the big guns....S.B.O! I am so proud of her, she is such a go~getter type of girl. It is much more work this year. She has to do a video and give a speech. The speech part has her nervous, but I know she will do a great job.
Her theme is around I-pods. Things like "Shayla will "ROCK" as your SBO" and "Whatever you GENRE, Shayla is the best choice." "PLAY LIST from A-Z but S for Shayla is the place to be" I forgot to take pictures of her posters before we had to hang them. :(
There is only 5 students running for SBO, so there is no need for Primary elections. Posters went up yesterday. Video due next Wed, and nominating assembly will be next Friday! That is where students will watch her video, and she will give her speech.
VOTE FOR SHAYLA FOR SBO!!

My Man

I don't blog about this guy very much~ not because he is not loved... but just because he leads the most simple life of all of us. Well, it's not really simple, it just not as fun. You know he does all the providing, and protecting, and sometimes it goes unnoticed, and under appreciated. He has had a rough go for the past little bit. While I took care of Chelsea, he took care of everything else, and really helped to keep our family stable and hopeful and by fully honoring his priesthood by giving us blessings and council. Since losing Chelsea, we have all had our own ways of dealing, healing, and coping. But it has taken longer for Rich. After all, he was still trying to run his own brand new business. (He started in March 2005) Things have slowly taken their toll~ and as of December 2009, we made the decision to close TekControls. It was not easy, he had a lot of hopes and dreams for that business, and felt somewhat like a failure. But due to hard times, and no work, we had no choice. So it has been scary as we try to follow our life's next path through prayers, sacrifice, trust and hope.

But today~ through the dark clouds that cover the sky.... we see sunlight! Rich has been hired as a Regional Manager for VFC! What a huge blessing~we so recogonize the Lord's hand in this, and feel full of gratitude.
So here is to you Rich! Thank you for taking such great care of your family~ way to go WE LOVE YOU and are sooooo proud of you!
