Happy Birthday Chelsea

My Journal entry dated April 30th 1989
(I was 21 years old when I had her, the age she is today.)

"I am the mother of the most beautiful baby girl in the world! She is finally here. I left work early because I was feeling some labor pains. Decided to go get some groceries... am I crazy or what? Well, while at Smiths my water broke, so needless to say I left the store, and I called Rich to come home. Called the Dr and she said I'll meet you at the hospital. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00 p.m. got changed into a gown, got all hooked up, one monitoring the baby's heartbeat and the other monitoring contractions. An hour later at 7:00, I was only at a 2, but then contractions really began to hit. At 8:15 I knew I was getting close, they checked and I was still only at 3! I thought for sure it would be at least a 7, so I began to prepare for a long night. But around 9:45, I knew it was getting close. And at 10:27 p.m. on April 27th, 1989, Chelsea Franklin was born! The cleaned her eyes, nose, and gave her to me, she is beautiful! I am so thankful for all our blessings, Heavenly Father is really watching over us."

(This is a tradition for us. I read the kids my journal entry about the day they were born on their birthdays.)
As I reflect the day of her birth today, what I remember is her big dark beautiful eyes. The mother/child bond that happens even before birth, was even stronger as I held that beautiful girl in my arms. God's love was so evident to me, that he would send me such a choice daughter. to me! Little did I know at that moment, how much that daughter would teach me, and so many others. How she would brighten a room the moment she walked in, how she would be the best big sister, how she would work hard at whatever she did, how she would be a friend to everyone, how she would make such righteous choices, and lastly, how she would endure and trust in Heavenly Fathers will for her life.
Happy 21st birthday Chelsea~ We love you, we love you, we love you!
We are doing our best so that we can be with you again. Celebrate the day! I spent the morning in the Temple feeling close to you, and we will be getting our annual Frosty's to celebrate the day you were born. Happy Birthday my girl.
And I ditto the end of my entry 21 yrs ago, I am thankful for all our blessings, Heavenly Father is really watching over us.... and now you are too!

What an incredible Mother you are and how special you must be to our Father in Heaven to have Chelsea, as well as your other amazing kids! Days such as these bring so many emotions and happy memories as well. Pretty cool idea to go to the temple today.....I just may have to steal that from you! Thought of you all day.
